2013 marked the first year that the Canadian Ski Council took ownership of the Toronto Snow Show and we are proud of its success. The 2013 Snow Show featured a new location at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, a fresh new look, free parking, an outdoor pro/am rail jam, and a Sony/Oakley Athletes’ lounge.
In addition to these new features, Snow Show visitors benefited from a decreased admission price, with children under 10 admitted free, as well as a 2 for 1 lift ticket deal at participating Ontario ski areas. The 2013 Show also included a Manufacturers’ Showcase,an Indoor Burton Riglet Park, and the premiere of Sherpas Cinema “Into The Mind” film. Feedback from our industry partners has been very positive and we look to build upon last year’s success, making the 2014 show even better.
The CSC also saw the best media coverage ever for the 2013 Toronto Snow Show. Media relations efforts generated more than 33 million impressions, compared to last year’s 27 million. This represents a total increase of 22% and led to a 10% increase in Snow Show attendance. The CSC was able to secure 4 live segments with CP24’s Breakfast Television show, 3 live hits with Global’s weather Reporter Anthony Farnell and segments with TV personality Susan Hay, live interviews with CTV Barrie’s Roger Klein, and 30 segments on the Weather Network.
