Fifty years ago this December, Cliff Serwa and Doug Mervyn opened a mountain called Big White. In 1965 the skiers discovered the first snow ghosts—now considered Big White icons. In 1968 the ski area’s first on-mountain accommodation was constructed.
Help Big White, British Columbia celebrate its 50th anniversary on December 7, 2013 with the Big White Sweater Ball, presented by Telus. Raising funds for the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, the celebration will take place at the Happy Valley Day Lodge at Big White Ski Resort, and will honour founders Cliff Serwa and Doug Mervyn.
Tickets are on sale for $75 per person or $550 per table. Call 250-491-6101 or email concierge@bigwhite.com
