Banff's Sunshine Village Revises Opening Date

Sunshine Village, AB has revised its projected open date to Nov. 18. 

“We have the cold temperatures and snow is sticking,” says Doug Firby, Director of Communications. “We just need one more good snowfall.”

Sunshine’s runs have a snowpack of 48 cm, and growing.  With temperatures staying comfortably below freezing, every flake of snow that falls in the coming days is sure to stay.

Forecasters are predicting back-to-back heavy snow years, thanks to the lingering La Nina weather effect.

Sunshine expects to open with four lifts: the Strawberry Express high-speed quad, WaWa, Jackrabbit and Wolverine.
